The Rev. Canon Heather Melton
Staff Officer for The United Thank Offering
The Rev. Canon Heather L. Melton is the Staff Officer for the United Thank Offering on the Presiding Bishop’s staff. Heather has served in this position for five years and is grateful to work alongside the UTO Board and staff in helping to promote gratitude and generosity through participation in UTO. She holds an MA in Religion and Psychology from the Graduate Theological Union and an MDiv from Church Divinity School of the Pacific in addition to her BS in Environmental Sciences from Kent State University. She lives with her husband and twin daughters in Farmington, New Mexico.
Associate Staff Officer
The Rev. Canon Michelle I. Walker joins the United Thank Offering as Associate Staff Officer in October of 2018. She holds an MA in Theology from the University of Notre Dame in addition to her BS in Computer Information Systems from Ferris State University. Michelle splits her work life between her UTO role and her role as Missioner for Administration and Communication in her home diocese of Northern Indiana, where she lives with her husband and two teenage daughters. Michelle is passionate about gratitude, loves to travel the world and meet new people, and enjoys relaxing with her knitting/crocheting needles and a good movie/TV series.
Julia Chester Emery Intern
Katelyn Kenney is in the second year of her term as the Julia Chester Emery Intern for the United Thank Offering and is currently serving at the Office of Government Relations. In the previous year of her internship, she participated in the Texas Episcopal Service Corps while also partnering with Missional Voices, an organization founded around sharing innovative ministry stories. Katelyn graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in Print Journalism and a minor in Leadership Studies. During her time at OGR, she will work closely in domestic policy with a specific focus on environmental issues and social justice.
